I’m a full stack software developer with a diverse skillset that ranges from building single page applications using React and Express.js, to quickly churning out a marketing site for a small business, to designing a website interface from the ground up using Adobe Xd. Currently freelancing, but looking to join a team.

I'm a freelance full stack software developer working remotely out of Flint, Michigan.
Hello, I’m Jared! I love, love, love designing and building anything that runs on code, especially if it lives on the internet. My passion for web development started in early 2020 when I was laid off due to COVID, was stuck in lockdown, and needed something to do. I found some coding challenges online and haven’t looked back!
Since discovering this passion, I have started a freelance web design and development business, launched several websites out into the wild, and completed a software engineering bootcamp. My main focus now is leveraging the technical skills that I learned in the bootcamp in tandem with the communication and customer facing skills that I learned freelancing to deliver more and more complex products to my clients.

Financial Tracking App
Thrift is a money-tracking web application built using the PERN stack. Users can track their transactions, accounts, and the institutions that they belong to. Some basic charts are also implemented using Chart.js.

Sleeper Sheets is a full-stack MERN fantasy football application that consumes the Sleeper API to grab a user's Sleeper teams, leagues, stats, projections, etc. and display that data to the user.

Instagram is a full-stack web application in which users are able to post images for the world to see, along with browsing other's images, liking them, and commenting on them. Our team of three developers implemented a version of Instagram that allows users to do the same things that they can on the real version in a one-week sprint.

Frontend Boardgame App
Battleship is a two-player game in which the goal is to sink all of your opponent’s ships before they sink yours. You must search the ocean for their fleet and once found, call down cannon-strikes onto their positions until they are destroyed. Beware, they fire back!!!

Ring a Bell for ASL is a marketing site built for a local American Sign Language teaching business. The site was designed in Adobe Xd and developed using NextJS, React, TypeScript and CSS.

Marketing Website
The Flint Mission Network is a local non-profit that I designed and developed a marketing site for. Users are able to volunteer, give donations, find contact information, and learn about their services. Over $4,000 in donations have been received and utilized in the community through the website.

I designed and developed a custom e-commerce site for a sports photography business. Custom PHP plugins were implemented to allow the business owner to dynamically control which leagues were charged a shipping fee and for how much. Over $50,000 in revenue has flowed through the website.
